Space Seed Holdings Signs LOI with ALBITEC for Collaboration in the Algae Field
Osaka, October 7, 2025 — Space Seed Holdings Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kengo Suzuki; hereinafter “the Company”) participated in the programme Developing Sustainability Strategies and SDG Oriented for Business, held in conjunction with EXPO 2025, and signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with PT. Alga Bioteknologi Indonesia (ALBITEC) for mutual collaboration in the algae and biotechnology fields. The programme was organized by the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia to foster collaboration among international investors, Japanese companies, and global stakeholders on themes including green manufacturing, sustainable food, and advanced technologies.
Overview of the Collaboration
Under this LOI, the parties will combine their strengths to advance joint projects that contribute to the SDGs and Indonesia’s industrial strategy across the production, productization, and market deployment of algae- and microorganism-related technologies. By integrating the Company’s “Planetary Health” perspective and ASEAN network with ALBITEC’s on-the-ground operational expertise, the collaboration aims to accelerate scalable production, product development, and market access within and beyond the region.
Key Areas of Cooperation under the LOI
・Areas of focus:
Utilization of domestically produced microalgae in Indonesia (such as Spirulina) for food, nutrition, and wellness applications; circular use of biomass by-products; and related areas mutually agreed by the parties.
・Forms of collaboration:
Joint programmes and pilots; exchange of information and personnel; technical consulting; capacity building; joint participation in exhibitions and business forums; and other forms of cooperation agreed in writing.
・Participation of stakeholders:
Relevant public and private institutions and partners may be invited to participate as needed.
About the Programme
Developing Sustainability Strategies and SDG Oriented for Business is hosted by the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia. Centered on green manufacturing, eco-fashion, sustainable food, and advanced technologies, it promotes international collaboration and market access through presentations, panel discussions, workshops on carbon certification, and business-matching sessions. A presentation by ALBITEC Director Ms. Falasifah was also delivered, introducing ALBITEC’s initiatives.
